Kevin Feige Talks 'Spider-Man' Reboot! Details On Style Of Film & Villains!!

 By Aric Sweeny

Hey everyone and welcome back,

The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Pretty in Pink all have in common?  They are all John Hughes classics.

According to Kevin Feige, These movies have a very similar tone and so will the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.  More specifically, when asked about how the upcoming movie’s "soap opera" story will play out, Feige had this to say:

It’s the soap opera in high school, and those supporting characters, that are interesting. Just as we hadn’t seen a heist movie in a long time, or a shrinking movie in a long time, we haven’t seen a John Hughes movie in a long time. Not that we can make a John Hughes movie- only John Hughes could- but we are inspired by him, and merging that with the superhero genre in a way we haven’t done before excites us.

Feige also had this to say about the villains:

interested in seeing villains they[we] haven’t seen before.
— Kevin Feige, President Marvel Studios

Finally when asked about a possible Spider-Man cameo in one of Netflix shows, Feige responded with:

My general answer to that is never say never. But our current Sony deal is very specific- we’re producing a standalone film, with a certain amount of back and forth allowed.
