FOX Close To Deal On Live-Action 'X-Men' Television Series!!

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

Well how about that, something I've wanted since I was a kid growing up in the 90's watching the X-Men cartoon on Fox every Saturday morning might finally be happening!  The closest thing we've ever had to a live action X-men series was the X-Men live action made for TV movie Generation X that was supposed to be the lead in for a Primetime series of the same name, but it was so bad the series never got picked up.  You can actually watch the movie on youtube just type in Generation X TV pilot and it should pop right up, only for the hardcore X-Men fans.

The X-Men universe is just so rich and complex, it lends itself very well to a television series, so get the details below:

According to our sources over at THR and DEADLINE:

X-Men is closer to coming to TV. There had been a lot of chatter that X-Men would be one of the top Fox projects this development season. Asked about the state of the project at the TCA Summer Press Tour today, Fox’s Dana Walden sounded optimistic that a deal is near. “We’re in negotiations with Marvel,” she said. “We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to announce something soon, but we’re not closed on deal yet.

Showrunners Evan Katz and Manny Coto as well as J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay (Star Trek 3) had been working on an X-Men TV series adaptation at 20th TV, which “will be a long-running series,” Walden said. It is expected to feature familiar characters from the comic books and the movies though some of the top commodities, like Wolverine, are expected to stay exclusive to features.

Now this sounds like something that should have happened years ago, and I'm so happy we are getting close to this becoming a reality.  I can't wait!

So what about you guys and gals, are you guys excited for a live-action X-men series on Fox?  Is this a good move for Fox's Marvel properties?  Leave your thoughts below.
