'Deadpool' Will Feature A More Faithful Adaptation Of Colossus Then Previous 'X-Men' Films

By Matt O'Bryant

What's up guys and gals,

Late last year it was revealed that Colossus would be appearing in the upcoming Deadpool film.  Many fans assumed that actor Daniel Cudmore who has played the character in three different X-Men films would be reprising his role.  Well to much surprise Cudmore turned down the role and Russian actor Andre Tricoteux stepped in to take his place.

Recently while speaking with Tech Times, Tricoteux commented on the film and revealed some cool things about the character of Colossus.  It seems we are getting possibly the best version of Colossus we have seen on the big screen yet.

The Colossus you’re going to see in Deadpool is very true to the original character in the comic book. [Director] Tim Miller had a really clear vision, and the Deadpool people had a really clear vision of what they wanted. They wanted Colossus to be very traditional to the original story.

When being asked would the film be diving deeper into the character of Colossus then previous X-Men films, Tricoteux had this to say.

Yeah, I think you’re going to get to see more of who Colossus is. Like I said, we kept him really traditional to the comic book. So yes, I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there’s still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus has been around in the comics since the ‘70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him. Yeah, you’re going to get to see a little bit more of who he is and kind of his outlook on the world.
— Andre Tricoteux
